We built CHAOS because the work around the model kept falling apart.

The first wave of AI coding tools made one thing obvious: the model could reason, write, refactor, and explain. But the session around it was fragile. Context had to be rebuilt. Decisions had to be rediscovered. A useful run could vanish into a transcript no one wanted to excavate later.

CHAOS started as a response to that feeling. Not because developers needed another chat box, but because agentic work needed a place to live: memory that carries forward, workflow state that survives the session, and evidence that makes the next handoff easier instead of more mysterious.

Our mission is to make AI-assisted development feel less temporary. The best tools should help a team compound understanding over time, keep ownership close to the repo, and make powerful automation something developers can inspect, interrupt, and trust.
